The connector is a device that connects two active devices. As a node, it transmits current or optical signals between devices, components, equipment, and subsystems independently or together with cables, and maintains that there is no signal distortion between each system. type and classification
There are many types of connectors, which can be divided into many types according to different classification standards:
Classification by transmission medium:
Electrical connector: used to transmit exchange current. For example, the working voltage of low-voltage connectors is generally 14V, which is mostly used in BMS, air conditioning systems and car lights of traditional fuel vehicles. According to different application scenarios, high-voltage connectors need to provide 60380V or even higher voltage transmission and 10A30A current transmission scenarios, it is mostly used for batteries of new energy vehicles, PDU (high voltage distribution box), OBC (on-board charger), DC/DC, air conditioning, PTC heating, direct/AC charging interface, etc.
Microwave connector: suitable for microwave communication field, with high frequency transmission characteristics.
Optical connectors: used in optical fiber communication systems to achieve the transmission of optical signals.
Fluid connector: used for the transmission of specific fluid media.
Classification by operating frequency:
Low frequency connector: 3MHz as the boundary, below this frequency connector.
High-frequency connectors: connectors higher than 3MHz, such as RF connectors and Ethernet connectors.
According to the structure shape classification:
Circular connector: It has a circular insertion surface and is widely used in various electronic devices.
Rectangular/heavy-duty connector: The basic structure is rectangular, suitable for occasions that need to withstand large loads.
Bar/press type connector: connection is realized by pressing.
Classified by special performance:
Waterproof connector: with waterproof function, suitable for wet or underwater environment.
High temperature resistant connector: can work normally in high temperature environment, suitable for special industrial environment.
Aviation connector: to meet the aviation field of high performance, high reliability requirements of the connector.
